If you use the PC to measure say system frequency
response, then you use the headphone output to drive the
system, and the line input to measure the system, right?
No you don't
This is really what you wrote, no one made this up but you.
Depends. You certainly use what ever input your using. In
a live RTA, its a measurement mike connected to whatever
input interface your using.
But, it does NOT have to be the smaart driving the noise
source. (though it can be). You can use ANY pink noise
generator you want.
Smaart is not like a TEF where it generates its own
proprietary signal for that usage.
And, you can always use transfer function (if you know
what it is and how it works) to see system response real-time.
Transfer function means you use both the input and output of the PC,
right?
Once again no it does not.
This is really what you wrote, no one made this up but you.
Then a few posts latter Arny tells us he uses transfer function on his
other software. There is maybe ONE way Arny could be using input and
output on his PC and be doing transfer function, but i will wait and
see if he can figure that out and tell why. No hints from the Peanut
gallery...
Now Arny, for the 50 point question. When setting up transfer function
at FOH position to look at you mains, what is the most important thing
you have to do before you can view the display to see what your really
looking for?

Chase Bob Urz out of the room because he thinks he knows it all. ;-)
You are the one around here who seems to think he knows it all, when
everyone else can see otherwise. You have just been asked a question
which would validate and qualify your opinions on Smaart and/or other
similar softwares and their techniques. You have been told by people
here that you don't know what you are talking about, and you say you
do. You were just given a question to prove whether or not you do
know what you are talking about and you blow it off ... to me this
looks like an admission of you haven't a clue about the software you
having been dishing out advice on.
its a classic arny stall while he googles for the answer |

I have sold and installed gear for Strattcom. have you
Arny? ;)
Interesting that no such organization as Strattcom shows
up in Google.
Lets see now Arny. Since you like playing these games.
Take a "t" out and see what you get.
|
What I get is the fact that you made a stupid spelling
mistake, Bob.
Thought so.
Let's see, a guy can't even spell the name of someone who he
claims was his employer.
Is he lying? |

How about he knows how to spell it, but just mis-typed it?
Anyways, get off your high horse - I've seen you make loads of
typos/spelling errors.
We all make them. It is no big deal. And certainly not something to base
an argument on unless you are in alt.engligh.spelling.and.grammar |

The misspelling was an purpose. And it served its purpose.
You didn't have a clue what stratcom was.
Google let you down.......
| Quote: | Let's see, a guy can't even spell the name of someone who he

Proves again you don't have a clue. Lets see, i am a contractor
and sell things to the airforce. Does that make them my
employer? Do I work for them as an employee? How could
i sell them things being an employee? The correct answer Arny is
i am a VENDOR to the AF.
Now, for another 10 points, what is a government issued credit
card used by the military called? So far, you point total is
below threshold. You might not be invited back for tomorrow's
show ;)
Arny congratulations. You will soon be the first Homosapien to
dig the deepest hole in the earth all the way to China!
CNN and Fox will be demanding interviews.
By the way, why no answers to the questions?
All here are suspensefully waiting for the answers.
Smaart live?
Transfer function?
Cots?

George has been waiting ages for his answer to the question about Tim Kemp
that Arny swears blind he has answered (but doesn't appear anywhere in any
archive) and I'm waiting for him to back up his bigoted statement that I
drive people off this newsgroup simply because they do sound in churches.
Has anyone on this newsgroup NOT grasped the fact that Arny is full of shit?

I got that he is full of shit and you have not run me off as I do
sound in churches ... one church here in Atlanta has a 24 box V-DOSC
rig with 2 API's wow what a rig ... there are no "trainees" there ..
only CVT's and CVE's and as I'm one of the few CVE's in the south .....
Forgot to mention ... I'll do sound for ANYONE that wants to pay my
dayrate :^)
You leave me with a vision of a little ole man beside the road with
sun glasses and a tin cup with a sign saying "will do sound for food" ;)
There are days i feel like that guy.
