Hi :)

I have Dtv with Tivo and I have some seaon pass question.

1). If I have a season pass for the lets say the Simpson on chanel 49, and
It also airs on chanel 12 do I need two season passes?

2). I have a season pass for my children's programs that recorded at one
time, but lately they dont record at all. I have most of these set up for
First Runs and Repeats. Tivo says it has 30+ episodes coming up but none
scheduled to record. What gives? I'm not sure what is going on.

Yes, my experience is that you'll need set the season pass for each
different channel.

Not sure about question 2. Just delete the existing season pass and
enter it again. Maybe there is a conflict between the show that it's
not recording with another season pass? Try changing its priority.

You only need two season passes if you want to record both channels. To
get around this, you could make a Simpson's Wishlist item and add that
item to your season pass list. A Wishlist will monitor all channels
whereas a normal season pass will only record from the channel it was told
to record on.

What does your TiVo give as the reason for not recording them? This issue
comes up often enough that I think people don't know their TiVo gives them
some diagnostic help for this problem. In the Todo List, go to recording
history to where one of shows was on and didn't get recorded. What does
it say as a reason for not recording it?

Give the kids season pass a higher priority. One of your other season passes

is stomping all over the lower priority one.

Season Pass per channel, or an Auto-Record WishList to grab it from any
channel.

A) Are those upcoming recordings on the same channel as the one for which
you setup the Season Pass? See answer to question 1
B) If you go into the ToDo list, the first item on the list is a sub-menu
for Recording History. You can look at previous recordings and missed
recordings to see what happened and why. You can also scroll to the future
to see what is not going to be recorded and why.

Look at the To Do List recording history; it will state exactly why
each episode did not tape.

Re: #2 I don't think anyone has mentioned the "Keep at most" value.
That could also be a reason why they don't tape (oops, I mean
"record").

Also, the "Recording History" available from the "To Do" list will also
show why *future* episodes are not scheduled to be recorded.

thanks for the help guys. There is a new channel called "Sprout" that shows
most of their programs. I manually went in and changed the channel or added
a new season pass. Lets see what happens now.
