Maybe this is the wrong place for this post, so any friendly advice is
welcome. I am looking for a source (website, etc.) for public domain or
otherwise unencumbered video that is available for download. I am
particularly interested in the older black and white stuff, i.e.: newsreels,
etc.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The easiest way to find stuff like that is to plug "public domain
stock footage" into google:

http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=public+domain+stock+footage&btnG=Google+Search&meta=

You aren't going to find many free sites that offer that sort of thing
for download as bandwidth is fairly expensive these days.

Thanks.

I went to a site that I've lost the link for.

It had tons of public-domain things. Lots of films from little
B-movie production houses like PRC. Prints were sometimes a bit
shaky but they weren't available anywhere else.

Also some commercial promos including a 1950 one from Coca-Cola.

Can anyone point me to that site.

Bill
