I agree with an earlier poster, that i indeed like PSP9 over
Photoshop...the one-click enhancement feature is just a dream, and i
havnt seen anything like this on another prog.....this OCE feature is
the main point of my query.....i have something like 200 pictures that
i need to Enhance (mainly inside shots from gigs or night
shots)...will PSP9 allow me to do a batch file, so i can do them all
at the same time, rather than one after the other......
It is facinating how from a very dark photo(which i would probably
delete otherwise)that such brilliant results can come from using this
prog..!!

Regards

Michael

Yes. Totally. And the killer feature for me is how I can right-click on the
history and make a script of my 6 or 7 steps of changes i made (after
highlighting them all) to a sample image that i can batch apply to the rest of
the set.

BTW, you can make your own one-click enhancement to your preference and the
peculiarities of your camera. I prefer to adjust the options of the automatic
enhancement features, so instead of using the one-stop fix, I just use
automatic color enchancement, automatic contrast enhancement, automatic
saturation enhancement, clarify, edge-preserving smooth, sharpen, remove
noise... etc on a sample image from the set, and I tweak the options of each
automatic enhacement feature, for example whether I want a lighter, normal, or
darker bias in the automatic contrast enhancement, and then I right-click on
the history of the what eventually worked best on a sample image, and then save
it as a script. And that would be my tweaked one-step enhancement.

Uh-huh This really does sound good

I am always pleased to see innovation at work and there is a lot to be said
for maintaining a dynamic buzz

Really!

Why are you being sarcastic over it?

Yes, it's always ideal to manually tweak every image individually, but there's
no harm in using a capable automatic enhancement mode if it gives you a result
that does the job.

Record a script doing 1 of your photos the way you want.
Save that script.
Load that script in the Batch Process dialog and run the batch.

You may want to set your script to run inactively though because it is
unlikely that all 200 of your images are going to need the exact same values
for the corrections you decide to use in your script. Running inactive will
save you all the click work of opening dialogs etc... but will still open
the dialogs (automatically) for you to adjust values per image. All you do
is adjust the value and click Ok for the script to continue on.

Where I mentioned 'inactively' it should read 'interactively'. Sorry about
that, I must have slept through the spell check or something hehe. There are
two modes for running scripts 'Silently' which allows PSP to do everything
for you (applies the same values to all images) and Interactively which lets
PSP open the dialogs but has PSP pause at the open dialog so you can put
custom values in and press OK.
