Please Help Me With This Conversion.... |
|
|
Hi All,
I will not pretend to really understand this stuff, because I do not.
But, I have an .avi file that I need to burn as a DVD.
There must be some issues with this file, because no matter what
utility I use to convert it to an mpeg, it locks my machine.
TMPG returns the error "illegal MPEG audiostream"
So, I need real help here. I do not understand about all this codec &
mp2 & demultiplexing and stuff like that.
Can someone please just give me the basic steps and what utilities to
use and what options to choose to take this stupid .avi, and create
whatever AUTO_TS & VIDEO_TS files so I can make a DVD from this?
I would REALLY appreciate it. Sorry, but I need to be help by the hand
through this one.......
Thanks,
Arthur

You are a it self-contradicting in this. |
You want the basic steps.
You do NOT want to know about demux, file headers, ps pes ts mpg structure?
The way to go is then have it done.
To fly a plane you need to know airodynamics, technical stuff.
If you do not want to learn that, go to the airport, buy a ticket.
Then you can put on the life vest as instructed when flying overland for
example.
And you get no parachute.
This pointed out, I can do it in Linux :-) hehehe
But you do not have that perhaps and do not want to know the steps....
http://panteltje.com/dvd
http://panteltje.com/subtitles/
should give some strong hints for LINUX users.
I am sure there are click and go MS windows programs that may convert SOME
AVI, but when it does not work you find that you need to understand what
you do.
demux avi to audio and video track.
convert video to mpeg2
convert audio to mp2 or AC3 (and these files should be playable, and have
restrictions on size and bitrate, google DVD format).
use DVD authoring program to make DVD.
No telling why you get 'illegal mpeg audio stream', does that audio stream
play in mediaplayer (MS windows)?
What is the bitrate? How many channels etc? |
