Encore Menu Degradation |
|
|
Within Encore and Photoshop 7 I create these intense menus. I start
with Photoshop > file > new and select 720 x 534 Std NTSC DVD. I may
use the gradient tool and many other tools to enchance the background.
I choose a standard font and use drop shadow for effect and so forth.
Within Encore I adjust the safe zone, arrange the text, adjust color
with menu sets and so forth. In preview there's the menu, sub menus,
and all links work. Project complete. The Menu -dazzling.
However when I pop the finished DVDs in any TV the menu degradation is
easily 80%. For example the gradient may have a sweeping deep blue into
brilliant orange with drop shadow text as I work within the
applications.
On the television the color is barely visible. The roll over on the
text yields barely a smear of color. This is very disappointing. I've
compared the menu templates that came with encore within photoshop for
resolution, pixels, image size and everything is consistant. Is there
any method to get a psd image to translate over without massive
degradation so that it looks crisp and clean on the television screen?
I chose web safe colors and the usual. I'm thinking the only way to
create a useful menu would be a white background with big black
letters.
Any thoughts on this issue will be greatly appreicated.
Thanks
