JVC DR-MH30s DVD recorder |
|
|
'morning
I have the combo recorder in subject (HD 160 Mb included) and I have
difficulties to produce my own DVD .
- The disc support must be DVD-R or DVD-RW
When I record a new DVD-RW from the Hard Disc I set the machine as follow:
- format the -RW disc in VIDEO mode
- set mode in SP speed (record-time on DVD two hours )
- record the disc (from the hard disc)
1) Normally I obtain a DVD-RW playable in a conventional DVD-player (and
also in
a PC with the appropriate sw).
But if I cancel the -RW disc with the combo and I format in video mode and I
re-record it, the final DVD-RW isn't readable from a conventional DVD
player (it is only playable in a PC). Why ?
2) If I use a DVD-R I obtain a DVD readable only in a PC but not in the
conventional DVD player. Why?
Of course it is more expensive to use always DVD-RW.
My conventional DVD player is a multimode TREVI-3003 and it work very well.
Thanks a lot for your answers and explanations.

Re the point 1) There is a difference in the disc structure when
formatted in VR mode and video mode
The VR mode is JVCs own mode and doesn't really have any compatibility- its
used to enable all the free space, wherever it is on the disc to be able to
be used as one block, something thats outside the standard DVD layout.
I wasn't aware that the same could be the case for DVD-r s though.

Are the DVD-R's finallized? If so, check the disc in a different player.
Discs produced by my old panasonic will not play in all players due to the
DVD format (1.02).
I believe Nero will allow you to read the format of the the disc.

Thanks for the answer.
Now I'm able to rercord and play only DVD-RW Sony (of course finallized)
I've tried to play my recorded DVD-R with the JVC and Panasonic players
without success.
I will try others DVD-R than Sony and hope to solve the problem.
Bye
