Hi,

I asked this question in another post but since then I researched a
bit and may know why my problem is occurring. I just need confirmation
or help.

Since I bought this new model. I hooked it up exactly the same way as
my old RDSX32 one. I have a cable coming from the wall and split to my
cable box . The S/V cables go from my cable box to the recorder line 1
a/v input. The other goes directly to the RF in on my recorder.

I proceed to set my TV Guide instructing it to get listing info from
Line 1 and selected tuner for on air channels. I tried setting it to
cable for the antenna question but only get channel 2 for on air.

I used to record on air channels 1-125 and be able to watch other
channels on my cable bix with this setup on my old RDSX 32 model, but
now I can only watch and record channels 2-13 instead of 125 channels.

I have a feeling Toshiba disabled the ability to simultaneously have
cable box and cable as an input option only now giving my the antenna
choice of 12 channels instead. The setup menu does not allow me to
chose set cable box top or cable anymore. I am not able to disable the
TV Guide setup anywhere as well.

I may have to return this model as I like the old one better. Although
it does not have automatic channel changing that works for my Motorola
cable box, I have more flexibility with it, it's in repair so I am
stuck with this one for 30 days.

Also sometimes the wrong channel is recorded. I set to channel 43 and
get channel 4! Is it because I placed the IR cable too far from the
receiver signal area that causes this?

Any suggestions on the 13 channels problem? Am I correct in my
assumption that I cannot have both 125-channel cable and cable box as
separate input select options at the same time? Toshiba has not
returned my calls yet after calling them all week.

I finally talked to a Toshiba repair person. I found out what my
problem is. When you chose cable box setting it disables the
unscrabled cables on the RF inout to only channels 2-13. If I set the
systems settings to no cable box then I would get all the unscrambled
channels. and could record off my cable box for scrambled channels but
them I lose my cable box scheduling on TV Guide.

The previous unit SX32 had more flexibility as I could chose both
unscrambled and scrambled channels.
