Can any one tell me how the create a desktop short cut to play a DVD that is
on my hard drive?

I'm using PowerDVD and can create short cuts to individual VOB files, but I
haven't been able to create short cut to play the complete DVD.

Thanks,

Mike.

Make a shortcut to VIDEO_TS.IFO and associate it with PowerDVD.

Well, I tried this too, but it doesn't work for me, i start PowerDVD
instead, and click the lock button,(select source) ctrl+O, and take
option "open dvd file on hard drive" choosing the VIDEO_TS folder, and
O.K.ing this, will play the dvd-backup.

Thanks Baz but it didn't work for me either.

I can do it as Eric outlined but I'm trying to make it work for my disabled
kid who can't do all that.

I'd appreciate any more ideas.

Hmmm...
Works for me.

You could try associating the VIDEO_TS.IFO with PowerDVD and then creating
the shortcut.

Mike, what you also can try is: set the .ifo type of file to start
IfoEdit, (freeware tool) if you got the right codec (mpeg2) istalled,
it should work, i remember something, that i did this too in the past,
but do not know for sure and i can't test it at the moment, because
i just erased a project i had...:(
