recovery of 'erased' DVD |
|
|
Hi there, Here's the problem....
Using a home DVD +RW recorder (Phillips) I recorded a broadcast program,
then whilst trying to cut out the crap before and after what I wanted
accidently told it to 'erase disk' (I blame a crappy user interface, it
couldn't possibly be because I stupid!) I presume that it has just wiped the
index rather then overwritten the data as it was a quick operation.
Questions, will normal PC data recover progs 'see' the DVD format data and
recover it, and or rebuild the index?
Would a different specific software be needed?
Is it a lost cause ?
If anybodys got any thoughts, please share...........
Cheers ............... Jeremy

Crappy interface. There is a function called "Erase This Title", the logical
thing is to assume that it erases the title, not so, it erases all of the data
under that title.

As I understand editing is done with a video edit programm. This means you
have to copy your vid file to this edit tool.
From what I read you were trying to edit in real time on the dvd+rw.Now I`m
not familiar with the Phillips recorder
but are you sure it has this kind of option included ?
Just to be on the safe side I would consider working on a copy rather than
use the original disc.
Not really shure though if you can retrieve your data again.
Good luck
