Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

1. Downloaded a 400MB avi file of a ripped DVD movie
2. Using latest Roxio Media Creator tried to write a DVD using the avi
file and Roxio told me that the end size would be 7.5GB.
3. Using TempEnc converted the 400MB avi file into 3.7GB mpg file
telling TempEnc that I wanted to make a DVD.
4. Tried to burn the 3.7GB file to DVD using Roxio again and it still
says that the end project will be over 7GB.
5. What am I doing wrong? Sorry, I'm over 40 and not up to date with
the latest pirate technology.

Thanks,
Ron

If you still have the original file try converting with dvdSanta.
http://www.dvdsanta.com/index.html
After converting the resulting files will be ready to burn straight to
dvd.
