If you're cheap you can try DVD Decrypter. Just use tools to
convert
stuff to .iso image first(like IsoBuster, Folder2Iso, DVD Shrink,
DvdAuthorGUI etc..) :)

DeepBurner free also does Audio CDs but I've never tried it myself.

As stated, if you would rather not pay for a burning software,
download
DVD Decrypter. It will decrypt (except Sony encryption), copy to
your
HD
and includes it's own burning engine.

Good luck.

Why do many of you assume that the goal is to illegally pirate?

Huh? The proper question is, why do many people assume Sony
has the right to stop people from making backups of their media?

Pirates don't need to ask what burning software to use, or how to
break encryption.

As a matter of fact, the company that created CSS for DVD is suing media
server companies stating that DVDs people *own* cannot be served within
their house from a media server to TV. I may not agree with the DMCA
(and I
don't) but they are getting virulent about it.

They? If it gets to the point where "they" break down my door
and arrest me for making a backup of fucking Shrek, or serving
it to another TV in my own home, it's time to move to a free
country.

That won't likely happen.

However, Blu Ray and HD DVD formats both agreed that players and recorders
will be mandatorily connected to the web to monitor use and copying and
rights. Get ready for Big Brother. I am not making this up...all future
recorders and players for new formats will be connected to the web for
permission before they will work.

Oh puh-leeze. It's all talk. The same talk we've been hearing for
close to ten years now.

Microsoft had the exact same delusions of grandeur. And guess
what? WPA has been an unqualified failure. Legitimate customers
are inconvenienced, everyone else uses hacks, cracks and patches.
If MS can't pull it off, Hollywood certainly won't be able to.

I guarantee at least a dozen cracks for this "online permission"
before it even hits the streets.

We shall see. The protection that they are going to use involves three or
four layers of which the internet connection is only one. The code to
enable the device changes hourly or daily (just like high-end cryptographic
codes).

I do agree that this will make the formats so consumer hostile they may be
still-born.

What's in a pirate anyway? I just want to play with stuff I buy...and have
no wish whatsoever to make profit on anything. Would I give copies to
friends [all 2 or 3 of them]...sure, why not; like I did when I let them use
my albulms of yesteryear that did not break the industry. The HOBBY is
created in being able to 'use' stuff...make libraries, collections...using
one's imagination. Stifle that and I think you kill what could be a much
bigger golden egg laying goose. What the fuck am I buying all this
recording equipment for anyway?

But then, I worked with a fella a few years back who did want to copy stuff
and resell it...so true pirates do exist out there. But to catch a few, we
punish the many...and I think that kills markets in the long run. Ah
crap...this debate has been going on for years...the producers win; that's
all.

I share my software with friends; does that make me an outlaw?

If software is outlawed, only outlaws will have software.

I guess I won't be sharing my car, books, clothes, food, etc. with
anyone in the future, either.

Yes. They are not registered to use it. If they *do* use it you can't.
Share does not mean simultaneously, just as a book cannot be shared that
way.

I didn't have a whole lot of luck with 1Click until I downloaded a little

Thanks for that one UD. I have been using DVDdecrypter, DVD2One, and a burning
prog, but still found that some disks, just wouldn't open.

I'll give DVD43, a whirl.
