Hello,

I have an Xvid video that plays fine using VLC media player.

I tried to convert it to an MPEG2 to burn to DVD - however, it does,
with no sound.

Using Gspot - I checked out the info. The video is an Xvid - the codec
is installed. However the audio is ac3 (0x2000) Dolby Laboratories,
Inc - and Gspot says the codec is not installed.

If it is not installed - why does it play with VLC?

Can I install that codec? If so - how and where?

you could try total video converter. it supports AC3 decoder
internally.
