To be honest, most of all Sony products (not just car audio) are not that
great. When people see or hear the brand Sony, they automatically assume,
"hey it's Sony, it must be good!". That's not the case. Their products are
not very reliable for one thing. They overrate their products, and always
seem to use "phoney" data for specification sheets. I've had so many Sony
products break for no apparent reason within six months of ownership. I
wouldn't recommend them at all for anything. So why do people buy their
products? Because of Sony's good marketing skills.

Look elsewhere. You can get some quality car audio equipment at a low cost
made by other known brands. I'd suggest Kenwood and Pioneer if you really
don't want to spend that much.

Not great, but if you are looking for decent stuff for the price, I would
definately recommend the Xplod series.

I would say the Xplod series is a nice middle of the road product.
not the best and not the worst.

See, now that doesnt make much sense.. If you've ever seen an amplifier
bench tested, you'd realize that most amplifiers these days actually put out
MORE than they say.. Now if you dont mind, keep all of this knowledge to
yourself..

so what are the "several ways" ????? you want me to tell you but i can
just as easily reply with your ignorant responses

so i explain "several ways". you see when you get backed into a corner you
always reply with an insult because you hope the subject gets changed away
from the fact that you have NO idea what you're talking about, lets see if
your next reply has

1. another explanation of how smart you are completely avoiding the original
question.

2. an insult while still avoiding the original question

3. no reply at all cause you've been called out once again

one way amps are rated at 14.4 volts.which is higher than in real
life.next about 14% of amps max amps are not usable to high distorton.
So you wont be able to use the max power of the amp......

Please don't tell us about real life, bob. It's obvious you haven't visited
in some time.

In bob world, maybe cars zip around all day just on their batteries, but in
real life we have these things called alternators, which routinely generate
14.4 volts.

In bob world, the term "14% of amps max amps" has some clear meaning. In
real life, it makes us laugh so hard we spray coffee over our monitors (in
our case, it's not always our television too).

hmm.. lets see... most amps show ratings at both 12, and 14.4 volts. But
usually the "basic" rating, is at 12 volts.
I'm guessing now you'll reply with "Well subs are rated at 14.4 volts too.."
That really wouldnt surprise me.
