I'm in the process of putting in an audio system upgrade into my car using
good quality components (2 Helix HXA-400 amps, Audio Control Crossover/EQ,
DynAudio System 360 components). It's a sports car so space is extremely
limited.

Due to very limited space in the car I'm having to locate my amplifier rack
on top of the spare. My concern is what I'll do in the event that I need to
get to the spare tire - I'd like to be able to easily disconnect the speaker
wires without having to undo them from each of the amp terminals & pull them
through the amp rack.

So, I'm trying to figure out some kind of in-line disconnect that won't
degrade the sound quality of the system.

Any suggestions?

Thanks much,

Rick

Don't buy in to the hype. If it doesn't shake loose on its own, it won't affect
the sound. Us any decent electrical connector or plug you can find.

Look into the Neutrik loudspeaker connectors, they lock and work day in and
out for touring live sound!

Rick, I tried to solve this same problem (more for the purpose of getting
luggage space on trips.) Never could find a good solution. Next time, I'm just
going to use the regular RCA plugs rather than a perfect "single plug" solution.
It's really not much hassle disconnecting them (label them all!) compared to
getting something else to work. Unless you can find something that's being sold
that I couldn't find.

Oops, you were talking about amp out, not amp in. Never mind. That is more
hassle. Same conclusion nonetheless, for me.
