I've used the Cyberlink Power Producer 2 Gold, and it does a pretty decent
job for mastering the DVD to finalize a DVD quickly. but it only has very
basic editing tools [cut/split/color adjustment for the most part]. For an
beginning just needing to put pictures and/or video only a DVD, its quick
and easy imo. The quality it masters is pretty good too, but note that
you'll want to have already interlaced your pictures because [at least
version 2] doesn't compensate for it and you'll get some jitters on some of
the stills. Overall, a pretty good 'quick-n-dirty' simple software to use.

Seascape, |
I already had Cyberlink Power Producer 2 Gold bundled with my Medion
5100 PC and bought Power Director 3 DE from Amanzon. Both those and
Windows Movie Maker coded S-Video from my Nvidia GE Fx 5300 Universal
Capture card OK. I then bought Cyberlink DVD Solution 4 Value version
suite and couldn't get the included Power Producer or Power Director to
detect S-Video from the video card even after many e-mails back and
forth to Support, so I returned DVD SOLUTION 4 Value version and bought
DVD Solution 4 Deluxe version since the versions comparison chart (which
only appeared after my value version purchase) shows that the Deluxe
version should work. Wrong, it did not and the back and forth e-mails
have resumed with the usual requests to update the Nvidia driver and
everything else in sight. However I notice that though installing the
DVD Solution suite removed the bundled Power Producer Gold version it
did not remove Power Director 3 DE and the both this latter and Windows
Movie Maker still work fine with the Nvidia card but the suite Power
Producer 3 and Power Director 4 Express do not.
I could use Windows Restore to revert to the bundled Power Producer Gold
(Gold is the lite version) and then try a custom install of the suite
selecting only Power Director 4 Express. What do you think?
As they say in Japan after a long diatribe "Thank you for your attention">
