home theater dvd player to play pal on ntsc tv |

what dvd player is it that will play pal discs on normal ntsc tvs? it
converts them, but i forget the name brand and model, it was less then $100.
this is for home stereo, not computers.
it would be neat to also play divx, mpeg stuff etc.
hopefully you can get this at circuit city and those type places. want to
get one local.

**The one you're probably thinking of is the Philips DVP642. That's
the only one I can think of that plays the other stuff and it's easily
region hacked with the remote. I've found it locally in stores like
Target. I bought one in Meijer (midwestern grocery store). It averages
at about $70.

Yes that is the one I've seen, but no one has it. Circuit city doesn't, good
guys dont, comp usa dont, best buy dont and outpost/frys dont. target is a
one to look at. |

Have you tried Walmart or the Web (as in Google)?
I have a Magnavox MDV 422 which converts PAL to NTSC on the fly, around
$60 or $70, probably at Target, but I'm not sure if it can be bought
today, since I bought it along time ago - and I don't think it does
Divx. Jpeg and mp3 is all I recall.
THere must be others as well. Look on dvdhelp.com if you are patient.

I ordered from amazon last night the Philips DVP642 with the region free
from amazon, but the seller was someone else. then today went to target and
got it so I guess i have to cancel with amazin/the real seller. crap cus i
wasted $22 for shipping lol. it shipped today too already so i need to
cancel it and also refuse delivery drop off from ups. |
