I have many old childrens VHS tapes that I would like to preserve for
my old children. Some of them are of movies I haven't been able to
find on DVD. The problem is that since they are copyrighted VHD tapes,
the JVC DR-M10 DVD recorded will not allow copying. Is there any way
around this?

If that is a combo dvd/vcr unit, no. If you have a seperate dvd recorder
and vcr, you can use a TBC like the SIMA SCC Pro in between the two to
remove it.
