Seeking alternate dvd authoring program that will create in |
|
|
I have given up on Pinnacle Studio 9. It does a great job capturing &
editing but I cannot make a correctly synced DVD.
I am trying to use Nero 6 to make a DVD from the avi file on my hard
disc and get a message indicating
"an unknown error occured, The current compilaton type was not
supported by Nero Express. Would you like to burn it on Nero burning
ROM instead?"
When I try Nero burning ROM it too fails to recognize the avi file.
Any suggestions to solve this frustrating problem?
Any recommendations for a standalone good authoring program?
Thanks for your help!

A "standalone authoring program" does not include an
Encoder to turn your AVI (whatever that may be, these
days) into DVD Compliant MPEG. That said, I like the
TMPGEnc products www.pegasys-inc.com for both
Encoders and their TMPGEnc DVD Author (TDA).
Others like DVDLab, and their new DVDLab Pro looks
to be much more capable, than the current TDA. (also
much more costly)
You might do a little research, at least check out
www.videohelp.com for Software MPEG Encoders,
and DVD Authoring. They have both articles on the
process and a search engine for both hardware and
software.

Adobe Encore does it also with AVI!!!! It has very good encoders. |

Hi Guys :-)
I've had good luck with the TMPGEnc products (http://www.pegasys-inc.com/)
and DVD-Lab Pro (http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/)

Depends on what you consider to be "stand alone". If you mean a program that |
only authors then you are correct.
I use Ulead VS8 and that is everything in one. With it I can capture, edit
and do lots of fancy things. When I have finished "messing about" with it I
can put it back to tape or author a DVD (fairly basic menus etc).
How much - £40 odd - as opposed to buying lots of different programs.
I realise that there are some free ones and there are some very good
expensive ones but it depends on what you are trying to achieve versus how
much you want to spend.
