DVD recorder and DVD burner combined recording? |
|
|
I would like to know if the following is technically possible:
I record a TV program using my DVD recorder and a DVD-RW blank disk.
The program lasts 50 min and I would record it in EP mode (the image
quality is not important to me). I would not "finalize" the disk yet.
Can I then take that DVD-RW disk and backup a set of DVD-Video files
onto it using a PC DVD burner? I have in mind another program that is
45 min long--image quality of the latter also not important.
Thanks.

If you are asking if it is possible to combine programs that are on
different discs, then the answer is yes. TMpgEnc DVD Author will do
that. It allows you to create a menu that points to each program, or
you can have each program play as one long show, with a chapter mark at
the start of each one.
It is not a free program, but they do have a 30 day trial version. |

If I understand right, I say no, you can't take partially recorded
DVD-RW made on standalone DVD recorder to P.C. and add another session
without saving to hard drive first and then burning to bank disc.
Every DVD Video recording tool I've seen would prompt you that
the DVD has data on it and needs to be erased before you can write.
You just have to import that partially recorded DVD-RW into a DVD
Video Authoring program like TMPGEnc DVD Author then Import
your 2nd video and burn to an erased/blank DVD |
