DivX question. Capturing Widescreen vs 4:3 movies |
|
|
Hi all.I have a PLextor 402 capture box which gives pretty good results. But
i want to find out how to eliminate the black bars top and bottom of a
captured widescreen program/movie,as this seems to add a lot to the file
size once it has been captured.(Almost twice the size!)
I want to make it so that when i play the captured WS file back in for
example.Windows Media PLayer,it opens a widescreen window instead of playing
it in a regular 4:3 window with black bars top and bottom.
Hope that makes sense !! Do i have to re-encode it after i have captured it
to get rid of the black bars,or are there any setting i can change to do it
while capturing? And if so,what program should i use to do it.
To capture,I am using Windvd creator2
thanks

Get a copy of BSPlayer to play your AVI/Divx files. It allows resizing the
playback window in sensible ways - too much to expect of outsourced MS
coding!
Otherwise, your asking to re-encode the AVI just to trim the bars. The
picture most certainly will not improve. If you'd care to try, use VBDub
and add the "null transform" video filter to crop the picture.
