Hi

I recently purchased the DivX DVD player DVP720SA from Philips. Most of the
DivX content play fine on it, but some movies encoded as XVid stop after a
few seconds. I contacted Philips tech support about this but they're not too
helpful apart from generic answers like "XviD is not officially supported
but may work in some instances." Using GSpot I noticed that the movies
failing to play are Multipart OpenDML AVI, "rec list" style, with BVOP used
whereas the XviD working OK are just "OpenDML AVI, "rec list" style", with
BVOP not used.

Has anyone got any idea what exactly is causing the movie to stop playing
after a few seconds? The same problem occured on the standard PC DivX player
before I upgraded it to the latest version.

Thanks!

Nope. But your stand-alone DVD player is gonna' be more finnicky
about what it will play than your PC. So if you have a DVD burner
get some software to convert the file to DVD. If you only have a
CD player convert to VCD or SVCD and play 'em that way.
