Re: having vcr trouble |

I have a fix that might work, as my sanyo says 'err'
if I'm deep in a tape and try to eject it. I've learned
to quickly pull the plug on the machine for less thant
2 seconds, and quickly plug it back in. This usually
doesn't lose the programming. I quickly use the remote
to run the remote in reverse in my case, to move the
tape to a point I can eject it. I think there's a battery
to hold your programming up to five seconds on most
machines. I then run the tape to the beginning in a
rewinder.
In your case, you'll want to hit eject as soon as you
restore the power. Try different combinations until
it works. The machines have become so complex,
you have to trick them sometimes.

i own a sony slv640 4 head vcr that includes hi fi stereo. whenever i
rewind or fast forward the tape when its not playing whenever i'm
finished doing so the vcr falls asleep and won't even move. after
counting to 100 or more then it stops. although the tape doesn't get
damaged i have to wait awhile. most of the time the vcr display shows
"L 22 11". any thoughts on how to fix this up? thanks
mechanism out of timing. this is a technical repair not for the faint
hearted. get it to a tech!
