Not necessarily snake oil, there is a fluid which works as described (ish) !
But you don't have to pay $32 for it, make it up yourself.
Used, apparently, by BBC audio engineers for imperfect vinyl. This fluid is
made up of, either 60/40 (or 40/60, I forget which but ask on uk.rec.audio
where I got it from) of distilled water and isopropyl alcohol with just a
drop of washing up detergent. I made up about 250 cc and I still have half
left after a couple of dozen records.
Paint the solution onto the record with a soft brush just in front of the
stylus, making sure that the stylus is always running wet. There should
never be enough solution to actually drip off the record.

* Hi Dave.......I've actually checked this out.......almost, but not quite
the same principle.
TVS works in a different way to pretty well anything out there.......I've
processed
hundreds of albums over the years with great results.....others have also
had
great success........only because of the different way TVS works! |
