Hello everybody,

I know this is the alt.video.divx group but i didn't found another
suitable group for my questions.

Anyway, do you have any suggestions for the following problems:

1.) Direct editing of MPEG-2 video
I need a tool that can directly edit a MPEG-2 video. I simply need to
cut 15 - 60 seconds out of an 120 seconds video file and then want to
save it again as MPEG-2.
VirtualDub can only save it as AVI... or did I miss something?

2.) MPEG-2 resize and save as RM (RealMedia)
As it seems the videos are in the wrong size so need to resize them
(batch!) and convert to various formats, also RM (RealMedia). Other
formats are no problem wih VirtualDub resize filter but i need a tool
(plug-in?) for RM, too!

3.) Create animated GIF out of MPEG-2 video
There are tools around but nothing I have seen so far is satisfying.
The program should do the following: Sample together every x-th frame of
the input video, set a user defined time between the single frames and
package them as an animated GIF (for the web).

Thanks for any help!

greetings..

VideoRedo is often being recommended for this. As for VirtualDub(Mod),
you could use it as a frameserver for an MPEG encoder.
