Power Outage while recording |
|
|
I was wondering if anyone could provide any assistance regarding
whether it is possible to finalize a disc that is damaged due to a
power outage. I have a Sony RDR-GX7 DVD Recorder and was recording
something when the power went out. When the power was restored, it
stated that the disc was no longer recordable and does not allow the
option for the disc to be finalized. It also cannot play on any other
players since it was not finalized. Is there any way that I would be
able to finalize the disc so it can play on other players? I know it is
a shot in the dark, but I figured I'd inquire.
Thanks in advance.

I think you're out of luck. But the upside is: You have a brand-new
coaster!

If you know of someone that has a DVD recorder with a hard drive, you
should be able to copy the DVD to the DVD Recorders hard drive then
write it to another blank DVD and finalize the DVD.
You could try coping it to another recorder such as a video camera or
VCR then copying it back to the DVD Recorder.
