Do burned file sizes vary by authoring tool? |
|
|
I see lots of discussion about ease of use of the popular authoring
tools, e.g. Nero, Roxio, Adobe, Ulead, InterVideo, etc. However, I've
never read anything about a comparison of the resultant file sizes
that these packages produce.
Given specific build parameters, should the rendered files (those that
are actually written to the disc) be approximately the same
size...regardless of the authoring/burning tool?
Curiously, I have noticed that InterVideo's WinDVD Creator 2 writes
significantly larger files than NeroVision Express 2. I was careful
to make sure that the setup for each app was equivalent. I really
didn't see much else I could twiddle in Creator 2 that would change
the resulting bits that would be burned to the disc.
If in fact there are differences...and those differences potentially
could result in a VHS movie dub having to span 2 discs in one package,
but only 1 in another... I may need to change the tool I'm using.
