I am putting together a DVD/Svcd, depending on how I decide to go for
the grandkids. It is a bunch of scanning, mostly 35mm negative, and
actually some of the very early ones are 110.

There are a bunch of different ways I can go. I have tried Studio 9,
which does a great job, displays well and it is very easy to put slide
transitions in, but the menu system really isnt' that good. I did a
trial just making a SVCD and it looks very good. My thought is if I
use Studio I will just make a bunch of SVCD's and play them from to
back, not my first choice, although it may not be all that bad either.

I like DVD-Lab, I use it for most things and I really like the way it
handles slideshow, with the exception of I can't figure out a way to
add transitions, I guess that is a shortcomming fo this program.
Maybe it doesn't need them, I guess I have to look a few mintures of
slides without them and see how it goes. I guress my first question
is, "is there a way to do transitions in DVD-Lab and I am just missing
it"? For movies clips I always use Womble to edit before passing it
to DVD-Lab, is this an options, I guess I will have to look into that.

I don't want to buy another program to do this. I do have Nero Vision
2, which I understand is horrid for slides (actually it isn't that
only thing it is horrid at). I also have a couple of other free
programs that came with this and that like WinDVD and they are worth
what I paid for them.

I undetstand Ulead does a great job with slides, but again, I am not
going to buy another program to do this.

After all the bable, I guess I am asking, is anyone using the tools I
have to create slide shows and how is it working for you?

To create slides I use Pro Show Gold found here:
http://www.photodex.com/products/proshow/

I haven't made enough slide shows to burn them to DVD yet so haven't
decided which I'll use to do that. IMO it's the menu creation of the
final DVD that I will concern myself with since I love the job Por
Show Gold does on compiling the slides with excellent transition
choices (and lots of them) and the ease of adding/synching music,
sound etc.

Thanks for your replay Joe. I was trying to do this without haven't

to buy yet another program. Although that may not be possible, I am
not terribly happy with what I am getting. If it has great control it
has lousy output and vis versa,
