Can someone help me out. I can't seem to find good information on brands of
video capture cards. Basically I want to take my VHS and 8mm videotapes and
convert them to DVD format.

What is a good capture card (usb 2.0)? I want the sound and video quality to
be excellent. All of my tapes now are in stereo.

I would spend up to $250 for a capture device that is bulletproof and
foolproof. Let me know if anyone has any success with the device they are
using.

Thanks,
Frank

Unless you plan to do much editing you might be better served to buy a
settop DVD recorder.

Unfortunately for $250 bucks you won't get the quality you're looking for.

I am using the ADS Instant DVD 2.0 . It is $169 US. At least on my 2.8 Ghz
1 meg RAM Dell Optiplex, the result is very good with no dropped frames.
