[Tivo Fan]

I recently purchased one of these players. It is connected
to BASIC time warner cable, using the rf input on the back of the unit.I am
recording in 23 hour mode (highest quality) and have the unit set on mono
audio. (That is because on STEREO, mono broadcasts that are recorded only
come with audio on one speaker when the recording on the unit is set to
stereo!)

Problem is that on some recorded shows, the audio pops and cracks. It only
happens on some shows. not all. I do NOT notice it
popping and cracking while watching regular tv, ONLY when recording.
Advice?

It seems like the audio might be clipping. I have the rf smoothing feature
DISABLED on the tivo unit. The popping and cracking is really killing my
enjoyment of tivo. Video is perfect, just the audio on SOME recordings have
the popping. Advice wanted please! Thanks!
