Bollywood actor Sunil Dutt dies

Sunil Dutt was a "very special human being", said Sonia Gandhi
The veteran Bollywood actor turned politician, Sunil Dutt, has died in
the city of Mumbai (Bombay).
Mr Dutt, 75, was the minister of sport and youth affairs in the
Congress-led Indian government and represented Mumbai in parliament.

Mr Dutt, who had been ill for some time, suffered a heart attack on
Wednesday morning.

Sunil Dutt was a major Bollywood star in the 50s and 60s and was best
known for his role in the film Mother India.

Congress party president Sonia Gandhi described Sunil Dutt as "a very
special human being".

He later went on to marry the female lead from Mother India -
legendary actress Nargis.

Nargis Dutt died of cancer in 1981, the year their son Sunjay made his
Bollywood debut.

Sunjay Dutt is currently one of the industry's biggest stars.

Sunil Dutt was born in 1929 in Jhelum district, which is now part of
Pakistan.

He began his acting career in the 1950s but was catapulted to fame
with his role in Mother India (1956), which won an Oscar nomination in
the Best Foreign Film category.

Other major films included Sujata (1959), Waqt (1965) and Reshma Aur
Shera (1971).

His last film was the 2004 release, Munnabhai MBBS, in which he
starred alongside his son.

He joined the Congress party in 1984 and was elected from his Mumbai
constituency five times in a row.

He is survived by two daughters and a son.

He did save Nargis's life in the fire scene in 'Mother India' when things went wrong , and
then married her . The holi dance was fantastic and I am still looking for that huge and impressive
Shiva statue . This is why colorful Hinduism will always replace Islam , if the Muslims open their
minds

story less than a week ago (after seeing Mother India), I was very
surprised at what an amazing character he was.
