Hello,

I'm wonding about sounds cards with optical output....

I'd like to connect my server to my DAC via an optical cable so I can
archive CD's on a hard disk and play them.

Does anyone know a good quality card for this purpose?

Thanks in advance!

I'm using the Trust 5.1 Sound Expert Optical and it works well for receiving
optical (for recording to .wav purposes) and re-exporting same if required.
I'm pretty certain that it doesn't generate optical by itself.
