Hello All...

Strange prob in encore1.5. I originally had my 1.25 hr long movie in
avi format all in one big chunk of a timeline with 18 chap. points.
Made 3 menus with 6 thumbnails each for motion menu. Linked 6 chap
points to each of the 3 menus for 18 glorious moving menus at once on
3 menus. Looked nice. Only prob is my rendered avi from premiere had
some choppy points in it so i had to re-render certain scenes.

*Correct me here if I'm wrong***

Once i had the new scenes re-rendered, the only way I could figure out
to get the new pieces in without keeping the old (bad) pieces in the
project {i want them out b/c i have precious little space left on the
DVD now and they will be added to the burn if i don't get rid of them,
right??} was to make several new timelines and bring the old, full
length avi in and shorten it on each new timeline to get the pieces
that I wanted.

Ok, now i have 5 nice new timelines with all the pieces of my movie in
them. I set all new chapter points, and then link them up to the video
thumbnails. Render them out and voila! I have 18 beautiful menus, 7 of
which are playing the same thing in the preview, only at different
times in the same chapter they are from. However, if I click the
thumbnail it begins to show the proper chapter.

For example: chap. 1 has a sunrise at 1 sec. in to the chapter and
some rolling clouds at 30 sec in. Chap. 7's thumbnail is showing chap.
1's sunrise. I changed the chapter marker link in chap 7 to about 30
seconds in to chap 7's timeline, re rendered the motion menu
thumbnail, and you guessed it, started showing rolling clouds instead
of a sunset.

Now, when it was all one big happy timeline everything was groovy. Now
that i have 5 disticnt timelines, I can't get any joy in my rendered
motion menus.

Any thoughts out there would be greatly appreciated. I'm about to go
out there and rebuild my entire menu system, but I don't believe
that's where the problem lies...it's in the timeline setups.

There isn't anyway in Encore to put all my new little timelines
together is, there? I think that would solve the problem if i could
get them all together and name their chap point markers 1-18. I think
the thumbnails are seeing GHOSTS or something and trying to look back
at what their brother menus are doing or seeing a chap marker in
another timeline and copying it. I don't know. All I know is I've been
on this project for over 2 months and thought tonight would be the
end..but alas, I can't get premiere to output my avi in one solid
piece without stuttering somewhere through it!!

ANY HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

TIA
