I am considering getting a DVD recorder, and wonder whether anyone
can give advice on any that support direct Firewire recording from
a camcorder (SOny DCR-IP7E - which uses MicroMV format) ??
I would ideally also like the unit to have a hard drive (not
neccesary, but definitely on the wish list) and preferably be able
to co-exist with a Sky digital set-top box for UK use...(this
might be a tall order though - I am guessing there is no way to
hook a DVD recorder to Sky and be able to use the on screen Sky
programme guide etc...???)
Any ideas ?

At this moment, your post is the last in my window, so I decided to
speculate before closing this NG.
I believe that DVD recorders with a FireWire input only accept the DV
format, not the MPEG found on microMV tapes.
If I'm wrong, let's hope that other posters will correct my remarks.
