Help needed - converting file encoded with VP62 codec to dix |
|
|
I have the right codec installed for reading in this movie, plays fine
on my computer using PowerDVD.
However, my standalone DVD player (Philips 642) which handles just
about anything, doesn't recognize this codec, so I am trying to
convert.
TMPGEnc does not recognize it - gives an "unsupported" message when
trying to open the source file.
I tried a couple of other shareware converters with no luck, one gave
an unusable file, and one gave me a file that played, but with gamma
so low it looked like every scene was shot at night, and audio out of
sync.
Can anyone recommend a good tool for converting a VP62 .avi to divx
(or any other standard format)

has the vp6 and now also vp7 codec.
If you use windows, and install it, can you use it with virtualdub?
Some time ago I have been playing with vp6 in Linux, mplayer / mencoder.
I had to make some changes, do not remember exactly.
But mplayer mencoder will do vp6 to divx I think. |
