Firstly, apologies for the cross-posting - there didn't seem to be an
obvious home for this question.

Basically, I've got around £120 to spend on a DVD/VCR combi, and I'm
after opinions on the three that I've shortlisted....

- LG DVC8700
- Toshiba SD-24VB
- Sharp DV-NC100H

Any advice greatly appreciated.

The Tosh SD24VB from www.multiregionmagic.co.uk is a good machine. Got one
myself, very happy with it. £40 over your budget though.

i've used them before and yes - they were great.
the player i bought was a sony, with an inbuilt design flaw meaning it didnt
work properly if the tv you owned was made by.... sony!
but, they arranged correction of the problem quickly even though the fault
was not theirs.

Thanks for the reply. I did see the Toshiba at Richer Sounds for £120
which is why I'm including it in my shortlist, although finding a
store with it in stock is another matter! Looks like it might be an
idea to perservere though.
