Premiere 6.01 problem |

I archived a project that was exporting fine onto DVD's, and then
re-imported it onto my external hard-drive to make a requested change. Now I
am getting audio stuttering on exporting to tape, and also it is more
difficult to get it to export in general. I've tested and tried everything I
can think of--replacing the audio clips on the timeline (within the project,
not re-imported from scratch), unselecting "read only" in the clip
properties, and tweaking my system. Other projects play fine, including
another one I had archived the same way and re-imported into the same drive.
I've swapped fire-wire cables and ports. It has the same problem whether
exporting to a camera or to a monitor.
I am running Adobe Premiere 6.01 on Windows 98SE, a PC clone, 1.1gig, AMD
motherboard with the VIA chipset and the "4-in-1 drivers" installed. I've
increased buffering on the card (Pinnacle). But all that shouldn't matter,
since this is the only project that won't export. I'm getting good
performance on the others.
The only thing I can think of is that the DVD's I archived onto were
defective and thus the files are corrupted.
I've also tried to make the project settings match up, but I don't think
that's it. I've tried variations and re-rendered, but it doesn't change this
particular problem.
Anybody ever encounter (and solve!) this problem?
Thanks,
Steve S.
