Okay, then it's not such a big deal. As long as these things don't
interfere with the ability to FF and/or 30-second-skip, I can deal with
(re: ignore) them.

What are "TiVoMatic" pop-ups? Those thumbs-up things that show up when
a certain show is on and it says "Press thumbs-up to record"?

It's your problem if you buy a TiVo 2 that clearly states it requires a
subscription, but you don't want to pay for service.
