Hi all
I have SAMSUNG DVD-ROM SD-616E, which I bought two months ago. I also
have p4, with 512Mb RAM. Anyway, let's cut to the chase...I cannot read
burned DVD's. Which means...my friend borrowed me couple of movies, but
I had no luck trying to load them on my PC. Just to add...i can read
original DVD's without any problems.

Can someone advise me here?

New firmware, maybe?

Actually, this is the divx newsgroup.

Shoot your question over to the appropriate DVD group.

Although he may be right that you would be better off posing your question
to the appropriate group, sometimes its not that big of a deal to ask an off
topic question like he has made it out to be.

That said, feel free to ask cooking question in a dog newsgroup or a
motorcycle question in a car newsgroup.

I would suggest getting a firmware update for your dvd drive. I have a
Lite-On DVD drive and it wouldn't read 4x dvd recordables until I did a
firmware update for it. That may be all thats necessary for you to do.

It 'd have taken you less typing & effort to simply answer the question.
;-)

Actually, it isn't my pratice to answer off-topic questions.

I leave the job of destroying newsgroups to others. ;-P

Recently I have had the problem of 'jumping' video in episodes of
"Joey" and "Enterprise". [Damn Xvid!!! :) ]
My solution to this was to re-encode the episodes throught Dr DivX; this
sorted everything out. OK, so I have to wait 40mins for the opertion to
complete.
