How to overcome TRV22 LCD outdoors |
|
|
It's probably no surprise to those who own a TRV22 (or similar
generation camcorder) how bad that LCD is outdoors. How do you
guys/gals workaround this? I have to revert to the VF but is there
some film you can put over the LCD to make it more visible? The LCD
is just terrible for outdoors use.

I use the viewfinder nearly all the time. If I want to make adjustments via
the touch-screen and it's bright, I fold it back against the camcorder's
body and continue. I can make simple adjustments by touch (confirmed by
watching the viewfinder), and I'm gradually getting better at finding where
the menu points are. It's hardly intuitive, though.
One unexpected problem - accidentally I touched the screen during STBY mode
in just the wrong place, and set up a FADER from black for the next shot.
When I pressed the "capture" button, the camera went into REC mode and the
viewfinder screen went black and gradually (over about 5 seconds) got
brighter. As I wasn't expecting this, the camera recorded the worst
hose-piping I've seen as I looked at the controls to see what had gone
wrong.

Yeah, LCD really SUCK.I went to my computer's vendor to install my genuine
Q3A copy to a pentium 4 machine. The LCD screen, when viewed from the same
level was all black and when half-a-foot higher was all white ( like an
underexposed and overexposed photo respectively).I think that nothing can
beat a good crt, as is the viewfinder of all camcorders also (a small CRT).
