Wrong audio track plays on DVD player |
|
|
I have 2 year old Akai ADV-2280 dvd player. I have "La Dolce Vita",
the 2 disc edition. When I play it the commentary track plays instead
of the movie soundtrack. I got another copy, same problem. Then I
tried it on my new player, it plays fine. The Akai player plays all
other DVDs fine, although I have had to replace a couple of
electrolytic capactitors due to odd behaviour. All the electrocaps on
the power board test OK at the moment. I'm stumped, any ideas?

Maybe a bug in the Akai firmware, a mastering error (with inapparent
effect on most players ... but not yours) or both.
Can't you go to the DVD menu and turn off the commentary? |

My player does the same thing with my DVD of "My Fair Lady" so I used
DVD Shrink to make a copy of the DVD. On my backup copy, I deleted the
extra audio tracks and I eliminated all the extra garbage at the
beginning and end of the movie and I re-authored the main menu so
that it has a selection for each of the 18 songs in this musical.
I also eliminated the 2-minute intermission in the middle.
It may seem like a lot of trouble, but I needed a backup copy
of it anyway. I have seen this movie at least 100 times and I never
get tired of it. |

You're saying that on this disk, you cant select any other audio track with
your player, it will only play the commentary and not the regular movie
sound? |
