I have been getting a "no Play" message on serveral of my Netflix
DVD's. I have discovered a fix that works sometimes to get the DVD to
play. When you get the "no Play" message. Open the DVD Player and
slightly turn (about 5 degrees) the DVD in it's holder or place and
then restart the play mode. This sometimes works for me.

Somehow, two questions come to mind.

1. What happens if you DON'T rotate the DVD and then retry?

2. What happens if, when you open the tray, you just jiggle the disc to
make sure it's sitting flat in the tray?

It is hard to believe turning the disc by 5 degree would make a
difference when the disc is going to spin in high rpm. You may get a
difference if your spindle is off balance and your disc is also off
balance, turning the mounting point may let you offset the two
unbalance axis to compensate for the wobble. If your disc wobble at
high speed, the laser readhead will fail to track to give you the "No
Play" error. If your Netflix discs have a sticker or label, it may be
the cause of the wobbling. Excessive wobbling may cause demage to the
spidle or the tracking system.
