Hi. Can somebody recommend a reliable but cheap DVD Player for home use?
I'm just interested in connecting it to my TV without any fancy speakers or
anything like that.

Any advice is very much appreciated.

Why do you need reliability from a cheap player? Cheap DVD Players
are designed to be disposable like a toothbrush. When you wear it
out, buy another one.

DVD players can be as cheap as $40 if they are made in China. Believe
it or not, some of these Chinese players may be poor in picture and
sound quality but they are top notch in compatibility some even don't
check for the region code, i.e. you can play any kind of discs. DVD,
full screen, widescreen, VCD, MP3, photo CD, you name it, it will
play.

There are plenty of reliable and inexpensive DVD Players. I've had one
for years that I bought for $69.
