real time sync adjustments rather than the trial and error input

No, I did not mean anything that complex. _That_ AVI plays just fine in PC
players like WMP, RealPlayer or Winamp. So all of them could retrieve an
information when to start to play the audio... The problems started when I
wanted to play it in a standalone DVD player (which I guess, ignored/failed
to get this info) and I got the same problems when I wanted to process the
file - either to MPEG2 or just remux it with CBR sound in VirtualDub. I
should have checked the length of the sound track as the first thing, I'll
remember that for the future :-)
