WinDV/Canopus Question |
|
|
I capture AVI using WinDV and Canopus ADVC 100. Works well, video quality
is great with one exception. On playback, across the top of the frame, is
an intermittent wiggly thin white line. Is there a way to eliminate it? Is
it the software or the Canopus.
When I capture MPG using my tuner card, no such line, but the video is very
dark....I've downloaded bittorent video of the same show and it, too, is
very dark. I've brightened it up using Arcsoft Showbiz, but the resulting
quality is not good.
Advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: WinDV/Canopus Question |

I use a Pinnacle DV MovieBox with WinDV frequently - and see no such wavy
lines at the top or sides of the picture, but they are blank, usually I clip
the image to remove these blank areas, they are 8 pixels on the left, 6 on
top and 10 on the right..... It's the Capture device mate.
To remove this just clip the area off the video when re-encoding.
The Cannopus should beat all other capture cards on quality - no
competition.

Thanks, Sheppy....
That mystery is solved...it's not WinDV. Can you tell me how I'd go about
clipping the video? I use TMPGEnc to encode.

Re: WinDV/Canopus Question |

Using TmpGenc Project wizard the third frame, or section has a tick box
titled "Clip Frame" tick it, and up pops a window allowing you to clip part
of the frame, this is what you want. Also near the bottom of the window is a
button marked other settings, if you go into the audio tab there's an option
to edit the audio, and normalise the audio, this takes some time but is
worth it, if the source audio stream is fairly quiet, usually I normalise
the audio at 90%.
