Based on what's been written about some other recent models, it's probably
either:
1. Hacked firmware that has to be loaded from a CDR
OR
2. A series of codes that you program into your PDA, using "remote control
emulator" software, to duplicate special codes generated by a factory
service remote.
I just bought one of these pre-hacked to codefree, and it came packaged
curiously: the inner plastic bag had a "U" shaped cut in front
corresponding to the tray. It was manufactured in June, yet did not
contain the June (V1.38) firmware. It was V1.44 which is the July issue.
Putting the evidence together, I'd guess that it's method #1 above.
Good luck finding something like that on your own. |
