I purchased a "universal" DVD player to use as both a DVD and CD player. My
problem now is the audio connections.
I have the TV's Audio - Out connected to my 13 year old Adcom receiver's
Tape 2/Video - In. The stereo sound through my speakers is pretty good.
In my earlier setup, when I used both players, each had a unit audio line
out. The CD player's Audio - Out went into the receiver.
The DVD's Audio - Out went into TV's Audio - In. This way I could use the
DVD, using the TV's speakers, without turning on the receiver.
Now that the new DVD player only has one set of Audio - Outs, I can't hook
the DVD player up to the TV's audio.
Do some DVD players have two sets of Audio - Outs? Or is there another
solution?
Thanks!

The assumption is nowadays that the audio out goes straight to your

receiver/hifi. You would only use your TV if you had nothing else. The
audio coming from your DVD movies would be more fully justified being
played through your receiver anyhow. There's a whole lot your missing by
playing your DVD audio through the TV speakers.

Indeed, some DVD players DO have 2 audio outputs. Fortunately, however, it
isn't necessary to buy one. Audio, unlike video, can be split and sent to 2
different inputs without harm. In my case, I use an audio interconnect with
a male/female connector on one end. This allows me to plug another audio
interconnect into the back of the first one, and that is the solution I
recommend for you. I bought mine from www.mcminone.com. It's part no.
24-645.

Since DVD audio is often CD-quality, why not use the stereo for DVD audio?

Yes, to both questions. Radio Shack used to sell a "distribution amplifier"
for line-level audio and video signals. Let me see if I Can find it now...
Yes, here it is:
1172>

Unfortunately, it's marked "out of stock," but that's the simplest answer.

What brand/model did you end up buying. Why did you choose that model? Just
curious as I am in the same situation as you were.
