Divx Video +700Mb duration 0:00:00 |
|
|
I've got a Divx Video file which is 700mb. When I want to play it it
indicates that the total time is 0:00:00.
I've tried it on Windows Media Player, BSPlayer, Realplayer and WinDVD
but the result was all the same.
I've got Divx video codec and a AC3 filter codec from Sourgeforge.Net.
I've never had this problem before.
The audio properties for the file are:
Duration: 0:00:00 , 1411kbps, 16 bits, PCM
What's wrong?
Must I install a special codec and which one or is the file corupt?

It may be the audio which is corrupt (often happens with MP3 in VBR)
Try opening with VirtualDubMod, extract the audio to a wav and re-encode
with FBR

I've got a similar (same?) file.
Gspot Codec Information Appliance says that the video is only 1 frame.

I am not 100% sure in this case, but it is possible only the header is wrong |
or damaged.
The length filed is part of the AVI header IIRC.
Linux has a program called avifix, that can fix headers.
maybe somebody here know of a similar MS window program you could try?
Perhaps even running it in an AVI editor, does it display in virtualdub? |
