My 10 year old Sony mini system is dieing. At the time it was the top of
their line mini system with very good 3way speakers. I would like to replace
it with something of similar quality and I do not even need speakers. If I
could find a good receiver ( about 200watts) and a cd player either combo or
separate I would be happy.

Any suggestions?

Ron

It's not so small but a Denon DRA-685 B-stock can be had from Dakmart for
249.00 plus freight. Hard to beat that deal on a quality stereo receiver. 1
year warranty on the refurbished product.

If you know what you are doing, consider looking for an AM/FM receiver
on eBay - less than $50 for a decent one. It will be better than your
mini system (but you'll need to add a CD player, of course, plugged
into AUX)
BTW, don't look for "200 watts" - that's a notional max AC power
consumption. You need a about 20 watts (genuine continuous power) per
channel.
Cheers,
Roger
