Why can't I play fullmotion video? |
|
|
Pentium 4 2Gigahertz
P4S5A/DX motherboard
768 MB PC2100 RAM
ATI Radeon 9800 128MB RAM
1x40 Gig hard disk
1x250MB Western Digital hard disk (8MB cache)
Windows XP service pack 2
both drives defragmented
With no other programs open, Windows Media Player and Quicktime cannot
play full motion video without stuttering. The audio drops out, and the
video does too. It's not just skipping a frame, either - it will go
black for half a second at a time. What am I missing?

Are your hard drives set to DMA mode?
